Rules for Chatting in the AIOHQ Chatroom

This is an AIO chatroom. Keep the topic on AIO unless everyone is interested in talking about something else.

Always keep a Christian attitude when chatting with others. It’s fine to disagree on things, but never criticize the chatter personally.

Comments about another chatter’s spelling or grammar are not needed. Just let it go.

There's now a Time-out feature. If you don't say anything for 15 minutes, the room will log you off. This isn’t to try to "make" people talk. We’ve had problems with people coming in the room and leaving their connection open. This slows everything down.

Please don’t over-use the actions functions. Funny actions on occasion are fine, but don’t overdo it. (We’ll warn you to let you know if you’re going too far.)

Don’t open the chat room in more than one browser window. This is confusing to others and unnecessary. Users who abuse this rule will have to be banned. (So please don’t do it!)

You don't have to use the same nickname as the Town Hall message board, but it's advisable so people recognize you and aren't confused. Please don’t purposefully log on as some one else’s chosen name. (This could lead to banning if you continually pretend to be someone else.)

Talking about other AIO websites is okay, and you can input those web addresses into the chatroom. Feel free to promote your site or others when appropriate, but don’t continually disrupt chats with site promos.

Never post your phone number or postal address to the chatroom. This can get you banned. (It’s just not a good idea to trade phone numbers in chat rooms.) E-mail addresses are fine to give out, but don’t feel like you have to if you want to keep yours a secret.

When we have a guest, the chatroom tends to move very quickly. Please try not to overwhelm the guest with questions. Use (Q) before each question.

Above all, use common sense. Don’t disrupt the chatting or purposefully annoy the chatters. Limit the crazy use of changing colors, avatars, and images. Those functions are for enhancing your words and shouldn’t be used in place of actual conversation.

Have fun and enjoy the chats!
